Keep your blood sugar level under control

If you have diabetes, you know that the absorption of carbohydrates has a big influence on your blood sugar level - so you have to eat intelligently.

The glycemic index (GI) classifies carbohydrate-rich foods based on their effect on blood sugar levels:

Foods with a high GI value (70 or more) are rapidly digested and absorbed, and result in a rapid rise in blood sugar levels. You should limit the consumption of this type of food, such as white bread, donuts and sweet drinks.
